The way we bond with our parents in the very first years of our lives, have a great impact on our ability to connect to others later on in life. The connection with our family members forms a very important base for how we feel and act many years later. Especially the parts or our parents that we reject, influence us as adults. Many patterns that are not serving us, that we try to get rid of, but somehow always seem to come back, are related to the ‘system’ we grew up in.
Children unconsciously can take on destructive familial patterns such as guilt, anger, anxiety, depression, addiction and even physical illnesses, as a way of “belonging” in their families. From the unconditional love a child feels for his parent, a child will often sacrifice his own wellbeing in a vain attempt to ease the suffering of the parent. Very often keeping that pattern with him when growing up, even until long after the parents have died.
Through systemic and family constellation work these hidden or unconscious dynamics and patterns can be brought to the surface. By bringing these underlying family bonds and forces into the light of our awareness, we can change our inner attitude towards our self, family members and the issues we are working with. By doing so we can allow ourselves to break free from these destructive patterns, in order to live a happier and healthier life in true connection with our self and others.
In this Systemic Work one day retreat we will look at the system we grew up in and explore how this is influencing our lives today. Join Lidewij to learn more about family constellations, yourself and your place within your family and your relationships. Come with an open heart and an open mind.

Through her mother Lidewij was introduced to yoga and meditation at a very young
age. But it wasn’t until graduating from university that she started to practice
regularly. After traveling through and studying yoga in India, Thailand and Bali she naturally started to share her love for the practice with others. She studied with many teachers but is mainly influenced by her teacher Petri Raïsanen, whom she continues to practice with and assists on a regular basis.
After becoming a mother, and a few months later losing her father, she started to
study family constellations. She was surprised by some deep-rooted patterns that
still popped up when spending time with her family members, even after all those
years of practicing yoga and meditation. The magic of family constellation fascinates her. She caringly guides you through this process, with openness and softness, hoping to help you to be able to connect better to yourself and others.
