The venue

You’ll be staying at Novanta, a distinctive 1000-year-old village located atop the peaceful hills of Tuscany. Here you are surrounded by rolling green mountains and unparalleled peace. With no cars, pollution, noise, or distractions, the only company you’ll have are your fellow yogis and our dedicated staff. Novanta is more than a hotel — it’s an entire village for you to explore during the retreat. Four dedicated Dutch individuals transformed this village, pouring their heart into every detail. Our caring staff is here to ensure every moment of your stay is special.

 

A typical day looks like this…

  • Morning tea & fruit
  • Morning meditation and/or rejuvenating yoga practice
  • Healthy breakfast
  • Time to relax or hiking
  • Nourishing lunch
  • Enjoying the scenery and/or optional treatments
  • Yin yoga, Breathwork or another special class or workshop
  • Shared outdoor dinner overlooking the valley
  • Relaxation or bedtime

  • Special classes such as Soundbaths, Aroma yoga with essential oils and more
  • Silent hike to the monastery of La Verna

We’ll start off the first day with lunch at 14:00 and will practise together on that day at 17:00. We’ll finish after breakfast on the last day around 10:00. Please make sure to book your flights accordingly.

 

Each room is unique and decorated with contemporary art. Prices:
€995,- for a shared double room with ensuite bathroom and twin beds
€1195,- per person for a semi-private* bedroom in a shared suite (max 2 people) with ensuite bathroom.
€1495,- per person for a single studio with ensuite bathroom.

* The semi-private rooms are rooms that have their own beds in a private space. The rooms are either separated by different floors, a curtain or a door. Please be aware that in some of the suites a bedroom needs to be passed to get to the shared bathroom.

 

All levels of yoga experience are welcome. Optional treatments to book are massages, healings and/or acupuncture sessions. Availability depending on the therapists joining us this edition.

Tijdens het relax en reset retreat van Emma en Lisanne bevond ik mij 5 dagen lang in deze perfecte wereld. Samen met het personeel van Novanta hebben zij een sfeer weten te creëeren die mij diep heeft geraakt. Emma en Lisanne zijn allebei zeer bevlogen en bekwame teachers. Ze zijn wijs en krachtig, maar tegelijkertijd zacht en vol compassie. Ze weten hun kennis en ervaring op een toegankelijke manier te vertalen en durven ook kwetsbare kanten van zichzelf te laten zien. Als deelnemer voelde ik me hierdoor direct veilig. About the teachers

Emma & Lisanne have been teaching this retreat at Novanta several times a year since 2018. After many successful editions the retreat is ever- evolving, just as Emma & Lisanne are constantly evolving as teachers and of course human beings.

 

Emma and Lisanne: “Being able to guide these retreats is just so special. The fact that we may call this ‘work’ still feels surreal. The location, the staff, the views and of course all the incredible people we already had the honor to welcome and meet here, it just never gets old.”

 

Emma’s exploration along the path of self-enquiry started with a journey around the globe in 2011. These travels guided her to India, a place that became a second home over the years and where she trained to become a yoga teacher, specialising in Yin and Prenatal yoga, but with a background in vinyasa as well. Emma is also a breathwork trainer and will guide you through the breathwork sessions. Besides this Emma works as a photographer and will be taking photos during the retreat.

 

Lisanne is a yoga teacher (flow, yin & nidra) and has her own company ‘One Day Retreats’. She organizes various One Day retreats with a big focus is on connection; with yourself and with each other. Connection is a major motivation in Lisanne’s work: when we are connected with our heart and from there with everything around us, an enormous source of inner strength and love arises. Yoga for her also means connection; with her body and with herself in the moment. It made her life more conscious and rich. During her classes she invites you to turn inward and consciously feel what the different poses do to you.

Becky Hamilton-Wright – Sound Therapy
Her exploration along the path of self-enquiry started with a journey around the globe.
Becky has been on a long musical journey, studying music in many forms. After graduating in Film Music and Soundtrack Production, she was asked to compose music to accompany yoga workshops. Creating sonic journeys that followed the energetic-arc of a yoga practice led her to research immersive frequencies and the impact of sound and rhythm on neurological states.

 

She delved ever-deeper into the subject, eventually choosing to study it formally and become a practitioner in sound therapy. This led to further training in Reiki (Usui and Karuna), Bioenergetics, tuning forks and colour therapy – all forms of energy therapy, with a basis in frequency, like sound.

 

Becky runs 1-2-1 therapy sessions and regular group sound baths, normally combined with Reiki. This combination takes people on a healing inner journey, to energise the stuck, pacify the agitated, and reconnect people to their inner wisdom.

 

Alex Hamilton-Wright – Yoga teacher

Alex has had a daily yoga practice for 20 years – mostly Rocket Yoga (a very dynamic form of Ashtanga Vinyasa, focussed on “flow-state”) and Iyengar Yoga (focussed on precision, refined alignment, and considered introspection).
He teaches regular classes and workshops near his home in the east of England, and in London, and at retreats and festivals.

 

His teaching style is precise, playful and accessible, and his cues are warm invitations – mixing anatomical, directional and metaphorical guidance, and a focus on how postures should feel. He tries to help everyone find new depth, new clarity and new precision in their practice, and their body.

He believes that physical practice is a route to physical health and vitality; to psychological wellbeing;  and to personal spiritual growth. And that facing into challenge on the mat builds calm resilience off the mat – allowing our better character traits the space to rise to the surface and exert greater influence over our choices.

 

Flight information:

We recommend you to have a look at www.skyscanner.nl for an overview of flights to Florence, Pisa or Bologna. Flights from Eindhoven are generally cheaper than flights from Amsterdam.

 

The accommodation is situated a 2 hour drive from Florence airport. Pisa & Bologna are a bit further away (about 2.5hrs). There are multiple ways to reach the accommodation but we recommend sharing a taxiride with other participants. We will send out a transportation list through which you can contact each other. Other options:

  • Rent a car and possibly share it with other participants. A website we use is: https://www.kayak.nl/cars
  • Take the train to Bibbiena and get picked up from there. For train schedules, please have a look here.

After booking we will share a transportation document with you so you can find your travel buddy.
